Commercial Trucking product authority snapshot
| Specification | Requirement | Primary reference |
|---|---|---|
| Product role | Customer-specified business-name, logo and optional unit-number branding for trailers. This product is not represented as a Canada-wide carrier-identification requirement, a CVOR marking or proof of regulatory compliance. | Product scope; not a statutory marking claim |
| Current product offers | The active product has 48 available offer combinations: four kit types, six preset or coverage choices and two material or finish choices. Prices range from CAD 129.99 to CAD 1,199.99. No live offer has a strikethrough reference price. The product has six ready 1254 x 1254 image assets for the product. | Current product, option and media record, verified 2026-07-19 |
| Canada-wide regulatory boundary | Federal law applies provincial safety laws to an extra-provincial motor carrier undertaking to the extent that they are not inconsistent with the Motor Vehicle Transport Act. A generic trailer branding kit must therefore not be presented as one universal Canadian carrier-marking solution. | Motor Vehicle Transport Act, subsection 7(3) |
| Ontario CVOR boundary | Ontario's Highway Traffic Act requires a commercial-motor-vehicle driver within section 16 to carry the original or a copy of the listed CVOR and operating documents. That document-carriage provision is not a specification for a business-name or logo decal and does not make this trailer branding kit a CVOR product. | Highway Traffic Act, subsection 16(3) |
| British Columbia example | British Columbia has a separate rule for a carrier holding a safety certificate: the carrier name is displayed on both sides of the applicable business vehicle in characters at least 5 cm high and clearly visible, subject to the regulation's scope and exemption provision. Do not treat an ordinary trailer logo layout as satisfying that rule without confirming that the vehicle, carrier and proposed marking fall within it. | B.C. Motor Vehicle Act Regulations, section 37.14 |
| United States-bound power-unit boundary | The current transitional U.S. rule requires specified operating-carrier markings on both sides of a self-propelled commercial motor vehicle, including the legal or single trade name and USDOT number. A trailer business-name or logo kit is not a substitute for those power-unit markings. | 49 CFR 390.21T |
| Ordering boundary | For ordinary branding, the proof follows the selected kit type, coverage and finish. For regulated carrier identification, the buyer must separately provide the exact legal name, identifier, vehicle scope, placement and authority that apply to the operation before production. | Product-order control based on the cited jurisdiction-specific sources |
Questions buyers ask
Is a business name or logo decal mandatory on every trailer in Canada?
No Canada-wide requirement is claimed for this product. It is ordinary business branding. Carrier-identification duties can depend on the jurisdiction, carrier, vehicle and operation, so regulated wording must be checked and ordered separately.
Does this trailer branding kit satisfy Ontario trailer ID requirements?
No. Ontario Highway Traffic Act subsection 16(3) addresses carrying listed trailer ID and operating documents; it is not a business-name or logo decal specification. This product is not sold as a trailer ID marking.
Can I use this kit for U.S. carrier markings?
Do not rely on this trailer branding kit for that purpose. Current cross-border carrier marking ruleT applies specified markings to self-propelled commercial motor vehicles. U.S.-bound operating-carrier name and carrier number markings should be verified and ordered for the correct power unit.
Which live kit choices are available?
The live kit types are Name Only, Name + Unit Number, Name + Logo, and Name + Logo + Unit Number. Each is offered in six coverage choices and in Standard Outdoor Vinyl or Reflective Lettering Upgrade, for 48 live offers.
What do the coverage choices mean?
Rear Door is one rear placement. Small, Standard and Large Side Pair are matching two-side placements. Sides + Rear Standard and Sides + Rear Large combine a side pair with a rear placement. The live offers do not publish fixed dimensions, so use the proof to confirm fit.
What information is collected with the order?
The live product contract records the business name, email, artwork reference and notes. The ordering page also exposes unit or fleet number, trailer colour, decal colour and production notes. The selected order option records kit type, coverage and finish.
Do I need an exact decal measurement before ordering?
Measure the usable smooth panel and choose the relative coverage option that best matches it. The current live offers do not state fixed dimensions, so do not assume a statutory or guaranteed size; confirm final fit in the proof.
Which artwork files can I upload?
The live upload control accepts PNG, JPG, JPEG, SVG, PDF, AI, EPS and WEBP files up to 20 MB. Use the clearest available file and check the proof before production.
Does the reflective option make the trailer compliant?
No. Reflective Lettering Upgrade is one of the live finish choices for the selected branding layout. It does not by itself satisfy a carrier-identification, conspicuity or other vehicle requirement.
Ordering comparison
| Decision | This trailer branding kit | Authority-specific carrier identification |
|---|---|---|
| Purpose | Customer-specified business name, logo and optional unit-number branding. | A separate marking whose wording, vehicle scope and placement come from the applicable authority. |
| Wording source | The customer-approved brand artwork and selected kit type. | The exact legal or trade name, identifier and qualifiers prescribed for the carrier and operation. |
| Layout | Rear Door, three relative Side Pair choices, or two relative Sides + Rear choices, confirmed in the proof. | The specific side, vehicle type, character size, contrast and legibility rules in the applicable source. |
| Regulatory effect | Does not certify a vehicle, create operating authority or prove compliance. | Supports the cited marking requirement only when the final wording, vehicle and placement match that requirement. |
| Cross-border use | Ordinary trailer branding remains ordinary branding when the trailer crosses a border. | For U.S. operations, verify current 49 CFR 390.21T power-unit markings and any other applicable rules separately. |
