Product details

In Canada, conspicuity treatment is required on trailers 2,032 mm (80 in) or more in overall width with a gross vehicle weight rating of 4,536 kg (10,000 lb) or more. Narrower or lighter trailers fall outside that threshold.

Those two thresholds are what decide it. Many small utility, cargo and boat trailers sit below them and are outside the requirement entirely.

What this page does and does not claim

This listing makes no government-approval or certification claim of any kind. Under both CMVSS 108 and FMVSS No. 108 the certification and marking obligations sit with the sheeting manufacturer, and the legal outcome depends on the trailer being in scope and on the treatment being placed correctly. Confirm the product received, the eligibility of your trailer, and the current rules in your jurisdiction before installation.

Ready-to-order red and white reflective trailer tape in five length options. No custom text, artwork, or proof is required.

Before Installation

  1. Measure the surfaces you plan to cover.
  2. Choose the length that leaves enough material for the planned application.
  3. Remove dirt, oil, road grime, wax, loose paint, rust, and moisture.
  4. Apply slowly to a clean, dry, smooth surface and press firmly.

Avoid wet, oily, rusty, flexible, deeply textured, loose-paint, or moving surfaces.

Buyer Verification

This listing does not determine which marking specification, coverage, pattern, or placement applies to a vehicle. Check the product received and the current rules for your vehicle and jurisdiction before installation. Gallery images are illustrative examples.
