Product details

Make parking rules clear at entrances, stalls, loading areas and private lots with an Ontario parking sign configured from the live size and package choices. Select the wording that matches the job, then confirm any enforcement language against the municipality or approved property plan before ordering.

Choose the sign for the job

The live templates cover private-property no parking, no parking any time, reserved parking, visitor parking, loading zones and authorized-vehicle areas. A template communicates the property rule; it is not automatically an enforcement-approved municipal face. Choose Tow Away Zone only after confirming the local bylaw and enforcement process. Choose No Parking Fire Route only when the route and sign standard have been approved by the applicable municipality or fire authority.

What Ontario law says

Section 100 of Ontario's Municipal Act, 2001 allows a local municipality to regulate or prohibit parking on parking-lot land where a sign at each entrance clearly indicates the regulation or prohibition. Section 101 permits municipal bylaws dealing with removal and impounding in the circumstances set by the Act and local bylaw. A privately purchased sign does not create ticketing or towing authority by itself.

Read the current Municipal Act, 2001. Municipal wording, placement and enforcement processes vary.

Choose size and package

  • 12 x 18-inch or 18 x 24-inch product size.
  • 0.063-inch aluminium panel with a standard or reflective face, according to the selected package.
  • Sign-only, sign-and-post-kit or 5-pack choices.

These are product choices, not universal Ontario legal dimensions. Ontario Regulation 615 sets a 45 cm by 30 cm minimum for specific prescribed highway parking signs; it does not make that size mandatory for every custom private-property sign. See Ontario Regulation 615, sections 25-26.

Before you order

  1. Identify the municipality and whether the sign is for an entrance, stall, loading area or general information.
  2. Decide whether the wording is informational or intended for a municipal enforcement programme.
  3. Confirm the exact wording and placement with the local bylaw office when enforcement is intended.
  4. Select the live wording, size and package that match the confirmed requirement.

Use the dedicated sign for prescribed applications

Accessible permit-parking signs use prescribed Ontario formats, while fire-route signs depend on local designation and approval. Do not substitute an ordinary private-property template. Use the accessible parking sign or Ontario fire-route sign product after confirming the applicable specification.

Order the sign your site actually needs

Choose the confirmed wording, physical size and package above. For enforcement use, complete the municipal check before placing the order.

Questions buyers ask

Is there one legal size for every Ontario parking sign?

No. Ontario Regulation 615 prescribes dimensions for specific official highway parking signs, but private-property requirements depend on the municipality and use. The 12 x 18-inch and 18 x 24-inch sizes on this product are production choices, not a universal Ontario legal minimum.

Does a private parking sign automatically allow ticketing or towing?

No. The Municipal Act permits municipalities to create parking-lot bylaws and related removal or impounding processes. The applicable local bylaw, approved wording, placement and enforcement programme determine what can be enforced; a custom sign alone does not create that authority.

Should I choose the 12 x 18-inch or 18 x 24-inch sign?

Use the size required by the applicable municipal programme, approved property plan or authority direction. Where the sign is informational rather than an approved enforcement face, consider placement and viewing distance before selecting either live product size.

What is the difference between standard and reflective options?

Standard and reflective are visibility and production choices in the live package selector. Selecting reflective material does not by itself make the sign municipally approved or enforceable.

Can I use this product for accessible parking or a fire route?

Only when the exact prescribed or locally approved face is being supplied. Ontario accessible permit-parking signs use prescribed provincial formats, while fire-route designation and sign standards are municipality-specific. Use the dedicated product and confirm the approved specification before ordering.
