What compliance decals does my commercial truck need in Ontario?
In Ontario, commercial vehicles over 4,500 kg require CVOR number decals (minimum 75mm/3" height), registered owner name, and GVW weight decals on both sides of the vehicle. Cross-border carriers operating in the United States also need USDOT numbers per FMCSA 49 CFR 390.21.
What size must CVOR numbers be on my truck?
The Ontario Ministry of Transportation requires CVOR numbers to be a minimum of 2 inches (50mm) in height, displayed in a contrasting colour to the vehicle, and clearly legible on both sides of the power unit. We recommend 3" or larger for maximum visibility during inspections.
Do I need both CVOR and USDOT decals if I cross the border?
Yes. Canadian carriers operating in the United States must display both their Ontario CVOR number and a USDOT number. The requirements are different: CVOR follows Ontario Regulation 424/97 while USDOT follows FMCSA 49 CFR 390.21. We offer a cross-border bundle with both at a discount.
What are the boat registration number requirements in Canada?
Under the Canada Shipping Act Small Vessel Regulations, pleasure craft with motors 10 HP or greater must display their licence number on both sides of the bow. Numbers must be minimum 3 inches in height, block style, in a contrasting colour to the hull. Both licensed (PCL) and registered vessels have specific requirements.
How do I mark my drone with my Transport Canada registration number?

What size must aircraft registration marks be under Standard 222?
Under CARs Standard 222, fixed-wing aircraft registration marks must be minimum 30cm (12 inches) in height on the fuselage or tail. Marks must be in a contrasting colour and maintain specific proportions. Ultralight and advanced ultralight categories have different minimum sizes.
Are magnetic signs acceptable for commercial vehicle compliance?
