Do CVOR numbers have to be displayed on Ontario trucks?
No. O.Reg 424/97 requires the CVOR certificate to be carried in the cab — not displayed on the exterior. Many operators display their CVOR reference number as professional fleet ID, but it is not mandated for Ontario-only operation.
What size do CVOR truck numbers need to be?
Ontario O.Reg 424/97 does not set a height for optional exterior CVOR reference display. We offer 2", 3", and 4" — the 3 inch is the most common for MTO weigh station readability. US-bound carriers must follow FMCSA 49 CFR 390.21 sizing for USDOT markings.
Do Canadian carriers operating into the US need exterior truck numbers?
Yes. FMCSA 49 CFR 390.21 requires legal name and USDOT number on the exterior of commercial vehicles operating in the US. Our kits are built to that spec. Ontario CVOR and US USDOT are separate obligations.
