“All electrical terminals shall be completely insulated. The battery and motor shall be mounted in a secure manner to prevent movement or vibration.”

Every electrical connection on an e-bike must be covered and insulated — no exposed wiring. The battery and motor must be firmly mounted so they cannot shift during riding. DIY battery packs with exposed terminals fail this requirement. Dealers must inspect electrical safety before sale.
