§The Law
O. Reg 369/09 s.2(f) — Ontario Regulation 369/09 — Power-Assisted Bicycles
“A power-assisted bicycle must have a label permanently affixed to it, in both French and English, indicating that it is a power-assisted bicycle, as defined in this Regulation.”
View official regulation text✓Plain English
Every e-bike operating in Ontario must have a permanently affixed label that says "Power-Assisted Bicycle" in English and "Bicyclette à assistance électrique" in French. A sticker that peels or paper taped on is not compliant — the label must be permanently bonded. English-only labels from US manufacturers do not satisfy this requirement.
