“A power-assisted bicycle must have an unladen mass of not more than 120 kilograms.”

The bike itself (without the rider) must weigh 120 kg or less, including the battery. Heavy cargo e-bikes, delivery tricycles, and fat-tire bikes with large batteries can exceed this limit. Exceeding 120 kg means the bike is a moped under Ontario law.
