What's Included in Your Tow Truck Lettering Kit
Every kit is cut-to-size and ready to apply. Includes company name, CVOR number, phone number, and (in full kits) your municipal tow licence number and address. All lettering is produced on premium 7-year cast vinyl with UV-resistant overlaminate โ designed to hold up through Ontario winters, road salt, and daily wash cycles.
Tow Truck Operators: What MTO Checks For
Ontario MTO enforcement inspectors confirm at roadside checks that your vehicle lettering is legible, correct, and consistent with your CVOR certificate. Missing, faded, or inconsistent lettering results in immediate defects under O.Reg 424/97. Lettering must also match municipal plate conditions in cities like Toronto, Mississauga, Ottawa, and Hamilton โ where bylaw officers run parallel enforcement.
Why Reflective Lettering Matters
Tow trucks operate at night at roadsides with oncoming traffic. Reflective vinyl lettering dramatically increases conspicuity โ a safety requirement in many Ontario municipalities. Our Reflective Vinyl option uses engineer-grade reflective sheeting rated for nighttime vehicle marking applications. Order the reflective option if your vehicle works overnight or in low-visibility conditions.
Compliant with O.Reg 424/97 s.3-6, HTA s.16, and Provincial Consumer Confidence in Tow Services Act. Reviewed February 2026.
