Reflective Trailer Conspicuity Tape — CMVSS 108
DOT-C2 certified retroreflective conspicuity tape required on all trailers over 4,536 kg (10,000 lbs) GVWR and over 2,032 mm (80") wide. Red/white alternating pattern, 50mm (2") wide, engineer-grade sheeting.
Regulation
CMVSS 108 (TSD 108) — Retroreflective sheeting required on sides and rear of trailers. Red/white alternating pattern. Must meet DOT-C2 certification. Non-compliance results in out-of-service orders at weigh stations and CVSA inspections.
Application Guide
- Sides: Lower half of trailer, as close to horizontal centre as practical. Segments must cover at least 50% of trailer length.
- Rear: Full width across the bottom, plus vertical strips on each side. White tape on rear.
- 25 ft roll — enough for one side of a standard trailer
- 50 ft roll — both sides of a standard trailer
- 150 ft roll — complete trailer (both sides + rear + extra)
