Highway 400, QEW, and Hwy 401 scale stations and OPP roadside patrols routinely inspect e-bikes. Without a valid bilingual compliance label, the vehicle cannot be classified as a power-assisted bicycle — it becomes an unregistered motor vehicle on the spot. Officers at MTO stations have impounded non-compliant units during commercial transport checks.

Frame Placement Guide
Affix to the downtube — the tube running from the headset down to the bottom bracket. This is the primary location MTO officers and OPP check for the compliance label.
- Clean surface with isopropyl alcohol (90%+) and allow to dry fully
- Peel backing and apply from centre outward, pressing firmly to eliminate air pockets
- Do not apply over paint damage, rust, or uneven welds
- Allow 24 hours cure time before washing the bike
