FMCSA MC Number Compliance Reference
Under 49 CFR Part 390.21, all commercial motor vehicles operating in the United States must display their USDOT number and MC number on both sides. Letters must be at least 2 inches (50mm) tall, in a colour that contrasts with the background. Canadian carriers crossing into the US require these markings before entering US jurisdiction β the border crossing point is not the place to learn your markings are missing.
Our MC number decals use 7-year cast vinyl that survives highway speeds, weather, and pressure washing. Pre-cut sets for standard cab door placement included.

Frequently Asked Questions
The MC (Motor Carrier) number display requirement was effectively eliminated when the ICC was abolished in 1995. However, the USDOT number IS required for all commercial vehicles operating in the US. If you have an active MC number for authority purposes, displaying it is common practice but not legally mandatory on the vehicle.
