Accessible parking signs in Ontario are not optional. The Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and Ontario Regulation 413 (Accessible Parking Spaces) require every designated accessible parking stall to be marked with the correct signage — or your property is in violation. Fines under the AODA for non-compliance start at $250 per day for individuals and up to $100,000 per day for corporations. The Highway Traffic Act s.27 further governs enforcement at accessible stalls by municipal parking officers, meaning an incorrect or missing sign can trigger a ticket every time an officer walks your lot.
Our signs are printed on premium outdoor vinyl bonded to rigid aluminum substrate, meeting the CSA B651 accessibility standard referenced by all Ontario municipalities. Minimum dimensions per O.Reg 413 are 300 × 450 mm (12″ × 18″); our standard sign ships at that dimension or larger. Three Sign Types Available
- Entrance — Posted at accessible entrances to indicate the path of travel from the parking stall.
- Parking — The primary stall marker. Includes ISA symbol, fine amount text, and optional "Van Accessible" designation for Type A stalls.
- Ramp / Loading Zone — Marks accessible ramps and loading zones. Required under OBC 3.8 where a grade change exists adjacent to accessible stalls.
Material Options
Engineer Grade Reflective is the MTO-minimum for parking signage and meets all Ontario requirements day and night. High Intensity Reflective is recommended for high-traffic lots, underground parkades with artificial lighting, and anywhere vehicle speeds exceed 30 km/h — it returns six times more light to the driver.
Both materials carry a 7-Year Guarantee against fading, peeling, and delamination. If your sign fails within seven years of installation under normal outdoor conditions, we replace it free.
