Why Add a Contact Decal to Your Drone?
Drones get lost. A gust of wind, a signal dropout, a low battery — and your aircraft is sitting in a field three kilometres away.
Your registration number identifies the drone in a government database. A recovery decal gives anyone who finds it a way to reach you directly. No database lookup. No phone call to Transport Canada. Just a text or a scan.
This is not a regulatory requirement. It is a practical one. Transport Canada themselves recommend including your name and contact information on your drone.

Recovery Decal FAQ
Is a recovery decal required by Transport Canada?
No. Transport Canada requires a registration number on drones 250g and above. A contact/recovery decal is not required — it is optional and recommended as a practical measure. Transport Canada themselves recommend including your name and contact information on your drone.
Can I put both my registration number and contact info on one label?
We produce them as separate labels because they serve different purposes and may go in different locations on the drone. If you want a combined label, let us know during checkout and we can accommodate.
Will the QR code survive outdoors?
Yes. The QR code is printed with UV-resistant ink on the same weatherproof vinyl we use for all our labels. Rated for 5+ years outdoors.
What if I change my phone number?
If your QR code points to a URL you control (a Google Doc, a personal page), you can update the contact information without replacing the decal. If you printed a phone number directly, contact us for a replacement at cost.
What size should I get for my DJI Mavic?
Our standard 15mm × 35mm fits most DJI consumer drones. Tell us your model during checkout and we'll confirm the sizing.
