It does not issue a registration number, register an aircraft, certify a placement or confirm an operating authorization.</p> <p>The customer verifies the exact number, current Transport Canada requirements, aircraft eligibility, placement, contrast and final use before applying the labels.</p> <h2>Sub-250g drones and the current registration exemption</h2> <p>Today, under the Canadian Aviation Regulations Part IX, most recreational drones weighing under 250 grams do not require Transport Canada registration — and without registration, no registration marking label is needed. The labels in this catalog are designed for registered aircraft carrying an RPAS registration number under s.900.14.</p> <p>Operators of lighter drones should be aware that this may not stay the case forever. Transport Canada currently has an open Notice of Proposed Amendment (NPA) under which requirements for lighter drones, including some under 250g, are under review. The public comment period on that proposal closes September 9, 2026. This is a <strong>proposal, not law</strong> — nothing in it is finalized, and no new obligation applies today.</p> <p>Our suggestion is simple: watch for the final rule rather than assuming no action will ever be needed. If a registration requirement is finalized that covers your aircraft, this catalog will offer marking labels for it here at that time.
