HTA s.104Ontario Highway Traffic Act s.104

Every person who rides on a bicycle on a highway shall wear a helmet that complies with the regulations. This applies equally to power-assisted bicycle riders under O. Reg 369/09.

All e-bike riders in Ontario must wear an approved bicycle or motorcycle helmet — regardless of age. The helmet must meet CSA, CPSC, Snell, or EN 1078 standards. Riding without a helmet is a separate offence from compliance label violations and carries its own fine.
