Choose the bundle that matches your work
- Essential Install Kit - $24.99: 5 in x 10 ft (12.7 cm x 3.05 m) professional application tape, one 4 in (10 cm) felt-edge installation applicator, and a printed installation guide. Best for common 2-4 in lettering and smaller cut-vinyl graphics.
- Complete Install Kit - $39.99: 12 in x 10 ft (30.5 cm x 3.05 m) professional application tape, one 4 in felt-edge installation applicator, surface-preparation wipes, and a printed installation guide. This is the most popular choice for wider graphics and a complete single-job setup.
- Contractor Install Kit - $64.99: 12 in x 25 ft (30.5 cm x 7.62 m) professional application tape, two 4 in felt-edge installation applicators, surface-preparation wipes, a measuring tape, and a printed installation guide. Best for repeat work, fleets, and multiple wide graphics.
When application tape is needed
Professional application tape holds unmasked cut-vinyl lettering together while it moves from the release liner to the installation surface. A finished decal that already arrives premasked normally needs the felt-edge installation applicator, not a second layer of tape. Printed stickers and labels generally do not use application tape.
Dry application method
- Confirm that the decal film, adhesive and surface are suitable for dry application. Follow the instructions supplied with the decal when they differ.
- Clean and dry the smooth application area using a method approved for that substrate. Use the supplied surface-preparation wipes only on compatible surfaces. Measure the position and hold the graphic with a low-tack tape hinge.
- Peel the release liner away from the graphic construction rather than pulling the graphic away from its liner.
- Press with firm, short, overlapping strokes from the centre toward an edge, continuing past the graphic edge.
- Peel the carrier tape back on itself at a low angle, close to 180 degrees. If vinyl lifts, lower the carrier and press the area again.
- Press every edge again after carrier removal. A tiny persistent air pocket can be released at one edge with a pin; do not use a razor or knife.
Fit and limits
The applicator is intended for smooth, clean, stable surfaces and pressure-sensitive vinyl graphics. Painted surfaces should be fully cured. Temperature, wet-versus-dry method and post-install wait time depend on the film, adhesive and substrate; this kit does not replace the instructions supplied with the graphic.

Installation questions
Which decal installation kit should I choose?
Choose Essential for common 2-4 inch lettering and smaller graphics, Complete for wider graphics and the added surface-preparation supplies, or Contractor for repeat work that needs 25 feet of 12-inch tape, two applicators and a measuring tape.
Why is the Complete Install Kit the most popular?
It combines 12-inch-wide professional application tape with a felt-edge installation applicator, surface-preparation wipes and the printed guide. It covers a wider range of one-off decal jobs without moving to the 25-foot Contractor quantity.
Do I need application tape if my decal arrives premasked?
Normally, no. A premasked cut-vinyl decal already has carrier tape over the graphic. Use the felt-edge installation applicator for pressure, and use spare application tape only for unmasked cut vinyl, damaged carrier or remasking.
Should I choose 5-inch or 12-inch application tape?
Choose tape wide enough to cover the full graphic face. The 5-inch Essential tier fits common 2-4 inch lettering and smaller graphics. Choose a 12-inch tier when the full layout will not fit under a 5-inch width.
Should I install a vinyl decal wet or dry?
There is no universal method. Wet-versus-dry application depends on the film, adhesive, substrate and supplied instructions. This kit supports dry installation; use a wet method only when the graphic instructions allow it.
What should I do if a small air bubble remains?
First re-squeegee toward the nearest edge. For a tiny persistent pocket, release air at one edge with a pin and press it flat. Do not use a razor blade or knife to puncture the film.
